Hypertension, Congestive Heart Failure, insulin dependent diabetic nephropathey in hypertensive and non hypertensive patients in cases where the serum creatinine level < 2.5 mg/dl. Left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction. Captopril is indicated to improve survival following myocardial infarction in clinically stable patients with left ventricular dysfunction manifested as an ejection fraction < or equals to 40 % and to reduce the incidence of overt heart failure and subsequent hospitalization for congestive heart failure in these patients.
